Dr. Sedami Gnidehou

Dr. Sedami Gnidehou is an Associate Professor in Biology at Campus Saint-Jean at the University of Alberta. Dr. Gnidehou’s research interests focus on infectiology and public health, principally surrounding the health of pregnant women in underdeveloped countries, as well as the held consequences on pregnancy, maternal and neonatal deaths. Additionally, she initiated and led a public health project in Western Canada on the prevention and treatment methods of imported malaria in Canada, particularly among immigrants originating from sub-Saharan Africa. With the objective of living in a community where the notions of equity, diversity and inclusion are respected; Dr Gnidehou participates in the improvement of the human condition through her teaching, and research particularly in the field of community health. She defines herself as a professional science educator in search of innovation and translates these principles into her role as an educator, her transfer of knowledge, her research interests focused on the training of future competitive leaders and global health, especially in the training of black youth in the university community and outside.
